The Philippines is rapidly positioning itself as a key player in the global solar energy market, driven by ambitious government initiatives and strategic investments. Under the framework of the National Renewable Energy Program (NREP) 2020–2040, the country has set forward-looking targets to substantially increase its renewable energy share, aiming for 35% by 2030 and 50% by 2040. To realize these goals, the Philippines plans to double its solar capacity by 2030 and is on track to host the world’s largest solar installation by early 2026, which will feature an impressive 3.5 GW of solar capacity complemented by 4 GWh of battery storage. These developments exemplify the nation’s commitment to transitioning toward cleaner, sustainable energy sources and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.

Supporting these efforts is the upcoming Philippine Solar, Power and Energy Expo, serving as a crucial platform for stakeholders across the energy sector. The event is expected to draw over 110 exhibitors from countries including India, Malaysia, South Korea, Egypt, Hong Kong, and the Philippines itself, with more than 3,000 professionals anticipated from the ASEAN region. It provides an invaluable opportunity for manufacturers, exporters, distributors, importers, contractors, engineers, and new market entrants to explore collaboration, investment, and technological advancements. This expo underscores the Philippines’ strategic role in regional energy development and its openness to international partnerships.

Simultaneously, the Philippine Construction and Ceramics Expo will run from July 29 to 31, 2025, alongside the solar energy event. This premier exhibition focuses on construction, ceramic, interior, and building materials, bringing together key industry players from the construction, housing, infrastructure, and ceramic sectors. The expo aims to facilitate networking and business development, positioning itself as a strategic gateway to the Southeast Asian market. It is expected to significantly contribute to infrastructure growth within the Philippines and the broader region, fostering economic development and modernization.

The media briefing for these events took place on July 25, 2025, at Meeting Room 5 of SMX Convention Center Manila. During the briefing, several distinguished speakers—prominent figures in the energy and construction sectors—shared insights into the industry’s future. Notable among them were Mr. Johnny Chotrani, co-chairman of the ASEAN India Economic Council; Ms. Maria Theresa “Tetchi” Cruz Capellan, chairperson of the Asian Photovoltaic Industry Association and President of SunAsia Energy Inc.; Engr. Warren Maralit of the Power Professionals Association of the Philippines; Arch. Felino “Jun” Albano Palafox Jr., a renowned architect and urban planner; and Dr. Luis Ramon V. Rodriguez, MD, MDM, president of the Karl Group Holding Corp. These experts discussed industry developments, policy frameworks, and technological innovations shaping the future of renewable energy and infrastructure in the Philippines.

Genesis Global Exhibitions and ACE Group are organizing these events with support from the ASEAN India Economic Council, Philippine India Business Council, and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The exhibitions are scheduled to be held from July 29 to 31, 2025, at the SMX Convention Centre in Manila. Supported by organizations such as the Philippines Solar and Storage Energy Alliance (PSSEA), Society of Philippine Electrotechnical Constructors and Suppliers (SPECS), and PHILRECA, among others, these expos aim to foster regional cooperation, promote sustainable development, and catalyze investment in the country’s growing energy and construction sectors.
