In Luzon, the exhibitors present a fascinating mix of fresh produce, heritage delicacies, and emerging specialty items. The Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), for instance, highlights an abundance of fresh vegetables such as carrots, potatoes, and cabbage, emphasizing the region’s role as a key supplier of highland produce. These fresh harvests are complemented by processed products and preserved goods like fruit jams made from coconut, mango, and jackfruit, which demonstrate the region’s resourcefulness in turning farm produce into value-added products. Ilocos, known for its bold culinary identity, showcases favorites such as Vigan longganisa and the iconic Vigan bagnet, both of which have gained recognition for their distinct flavors and traditional preparation methods. Meanwhile, producers from Cagayan Valley and Central Luzon focus on processed foods, offering fruit preserves, dried fruits, and lesser-known souring agents such as batwan powder and dried kamias, which add depth to Filipino culinary flavors and inspire new recipe development.

Further south, MIMAROPA features snack staples like banana chips and delicate uraro cookies, which are popular not only for their delicious taste but also for their export potential. Bicol, often associated with spicy flavors, takes pride in its cacao industry, with exhibitors from Camarines Sur showcasing tree-to-bar chocolates, cacao tea, cacao vinegar, and even hazelnut chocolate spread. These products highlight the region’s growing reputation as a source of high-quality cacao and innovative chocolate creations.

Meanwhile, the Visayas region emphasizes its rich tradition of sweets and artisanal craftsmanship. Western Visayas draws visitors’ attention with its signature mango products, ranging from jams and dried mangoes to other mango-based confections, celebrating one of the region’s most iconic fruits. The Negros Island Region further cements its reputation as the country’s chocolate capital by showcasing pure tablea made in Negros Oriental, along with a variety of dark chocolates. Some exhibitors are also experimenting with global food trends, offering their own take on viral treats like Dubai chewy cookies, blending local chocolate with international flavors. Bohol-based producers bring in a mix of durian and mango pastillas, cookies, and even rice wine, which combine traditional flavors with creative product development, appealing to both local and international markets.

In Mindanao, the region’s strength lies in its tropical abundance and natural resources. Exhibitors from Zamboanga del Sur present a line of premium cacao products, including 100% pure cacao tablea and high-quality dark chocolate bars in 70% and 62% variants. Northern Mindanao and the Davao region highlight the versatility of coconut, offering products such as coconut vinegar, coconut-based chili garlic, and other coconut derivatives. The region also features a vibrant display of fresh tropical fruits like durian, pomelo, and mangosteen, which attract steady crowds eager to taste and purchase these exotic delights. Innovative candy formulations using mangosteen and durian, such as yema and tart treats, showcase the playful creativity of local producers and their ability to reimagine traditional fruits into bite-sized confections. Additionally, the region emphasizes wellness and natural products with offerings like virgin coconut oil, raw dark chocolate tablea, and coconut sugar, aligning with global health trends and consumer preferences.

Beyond the exhibits of food products, the expo also hosts a variety of industry-focused activities, including exhibitions from exporters, retailers, and equipment manufacturers. These sections provide valuable opportunities for sourcing, networking, and exploring new business collaborations. Live culinary demonstrations are a major highlight, featuring renowned chefs such as Chef Gerick Manalo, Chef Emily Peralta, and Chef JM Sunglao, who showcase innovative techniques and Filipino culinary artistry on stage. The event also features a culinary challenge that invites aspiring chefs and culinary students to demonstrate their skills and creativity, celebrating Filipino culinary excellence and regional flavors.

Adding to the expo’s significance is the expanded international pavilion, which now includes partners from Malaysia and India. This development underscores the Philippines’ growing role in the global food trade and the expo’s commitment to fostering cross-border collaborations. The event also offers dedicated zones for exporters, retailers, and equipment suppliers, which aim to facilitate trade discussions, promote export opportunities, and support local businesses’ growth on the international stage.

By bridging producers and markets, the expo opens new avenues for international trade, empowering Filipino businesses to forge partnerships and export deals that enhance rural development and bolster the agro-industrial sector.

The event features a diverse lineup of exhibitors across multiple sectors, including food and beverage suppliers, health and organic products, hospitality services, and even technology and utilities. From artisanal pastries to eco-friendly packaging solutions, the expo offers a rich tapestry of Filipino offerings aimed at highlighting the country’s culinary heritage and innovation. Among the engaging programs on the first day were competitions such as the Philippine Regional Table Setting and Healthy Pasta Competition, alongside interactive seminars addressing the latest trends in catering and food service.

As the expo continues over the next two days, attendees are looking forward to exciting events like the PINASarap Breakfast Competition, culinary demonstrations led by esteemed chefs, and insightful seminars on eCommerce and agriculture. The final day promises a culmination of talents with competitions, workshops, and discussions on food safety trends, ultimately leading to the Culinary Challenge Awarding Ceremony to honor outstanding innovators in the food industry.

Beyond its designation as a trade show, the Philippine Food Expo 2025 emerges as a critical platform that interlinks local innovation and culinary artistry with global market potential. As connections are forged and partnerships developed, the expo not only enhances the profile of Philippine-made products on the international stage but also instills a renewed sense of pride and purpose in the collective advancement of the Filipino food sector, shaping the future of local industries one product at a time.
