The 2026 IIEE Midyear National Convention is currently underway, marking a significant gathering for electrical engineering professionals across the Philippines. Held from May 5 to 8, 2026, at the Taal Vista Hotel in Tagaytay City, this four-day event continues to serve as a platform for learning, networking, and professional development. With the theme “IIEE BRIGHTER 2026: Empowering the Future, Illuminating Excellence and Leading with Humility,” the convention emphasizes the importance of fostering integrity, innovation, and leadership among industry practitioners, educators, students, government officials, and private sector partners.

Prior to the main sessions, a special pre-activity webinar was conducted to engage participants early and set the tone for the event. Throughout the convention, attendees have been participating in a variety of technical sessions focused on critical aspects of professional growth. These sessions are thoughtfully organized into three major areas: continuous upskilling for electrical practitioners, academic enhancement through lifelong learning and industry collaboration, and professional progression through competency development. Such discussions aim to equip delegates with the latest industry knowledge, emerging technologies, regulatory updates, and best practices.
Industry partners have also been showcasing the latest electrical equipment, solutions, and innovations during product presentations, highlighting advancements that support efficiency, safety, and sustainability. In addition, the convention fosters camaraderie and wellness through an engaging sports tournament featuring activities like golf, volleyball, basketball, pickleball, lawn tennis, chess, darts, and billiards—creating opportunities for participants to connect and build lasting relationships. Delegates are also gaining practical insights through plant tours of selected power and industrial facilities, providing real-world exposure to operational best practices and safety standards.

A grand exhibit has brought together leading companies to showcase cutting-edge machinery, devices, and engineering solutions, facilitating networking and industry exploration. The fellowship night offers a relaxed setting for professionals to strengthen their networks and celebrate the unity within the electrical engineering community. Meanwhile, the RME forum provides a dedicated space for Registered Master Electricians to discuss standards, share experiences, and explore further professional development opportunities. Additionally, the Women Engineers Network session highlights the vital contributions of women in electrical engineering, promoting inclusivity, mentorship, and leadership within the field.

The 2026 Midyear National Convention continues to be a vibrant and dynamic event that promotes continuous learning, professional growth, and industry collaboration. Participants are earning up to 24.25 CPD credit units while supporting IIEE’s advocacy for lifelong learning and excellence in electrical engineering. As the event progresses, it remains a powerful catalyst for empowering the industry’s future and illuminating the path toward innovation and leadership.
