SM HOTELS AND CONVENTIONS CORP. TO LAUNCH SMX CONVENTION CENTER SEASIDE CEBU IN 2026,
Cebu City, Philippines — SM Hotels and Conventions Corp. (SMHCC) is bringing its signature brand of event excellence to the Visayas with the launch of SMX Convention Center Seaside Cebu, a landmark project rising at South Road Properties (SRP). With a total investment of ₱5.3 billion, the venue is set to open in the third quarter of 2026, setting a new benchmark for convention facilities in the region.
Operated by SMX Convention Center, the largest convention center operator in the Philippines, the new facility will offer over 40,000 square meters of gross floor area, including 21,000 square meters of flexible, leasable event space—making it the biggest SMX venue in the country.

SMX Convention Center Seaside Cebu will rise beside SM Seaside City Cebu, within the dynamic South Road Properties (SRP) district. Its prime location offers direct connectivity to major lifestyle, retail, and hospitality hubs, and convenient access to key infrastructure such as the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) and Mactan-Cebu International Airport. As part of a larger master-planned area that includes future developments like the SM Seaside Arena, the venue is strategically positioned to support high-volume, high-impact events with regional and international reach.
The project is part of a phased development that will also feature a three-star hotel and the upcoming SM Seaside Arena, reinforcing Cebu as a complete, integrated MICE and entertainment destination.
SMX Seaside Cebu is designed to empower Cebu to attract a broader portfolio of international and regional events that were previously exclusive to Metro Manila. With scalable halls, professional support services, and world-class amenities, the venue will provide organizers the capacity, credibility, and convenience needed to mount successful events—whether for 100 or 10,000 delegates.
